Understand how your receipt data is handled.

Receipts can contain financial and personal information. Here is a plain-language overview of the product's cloud-processing workflow, so you can decide what to upload.

Your account and receipt records

ReceiptNest uses Firebase services for account authentication, receipt records, and uploaded files. Records include account information, source receipt files, and extracted purchase details such as merchant, date, amount, currency, and category. Add only documents you are authorized to store and process.

Cloud AI processing, not on-device-only scanning

Receipt content is sent to Google's Vertex AI/Gemini service to extract purchase information. Processing can also involve the email-ingestion service when you forward receipts. Service providers therefore process data to deliver the product; “never shared with any third party” would not accurately describe this workflow.

ReceiptNest is not described here as end-to-end encrypted. Cloud receipt processing requires the processing service to read the document. Encryption during transport and storage is different from a design in which only you can decrypt its contents.

Review, export, and account access

Review extracted fields against the original before using them. You can export receipt records through the account's available export controls. Be careful when downloading or sharing records: anyone you send an export or an accessible shared link to may be able to retain a copy.

Protect your sign-in credentials and your personal receipt-forwarding address. Do not publish account links, receipt images, or forwarding addresses in public support threads.

Deletion questions

The application includes receipt and account-deletion controls. Contact info@receipt-nest.com if you need help with a deletion request or information about retention. This overview does not promise instantaneous erasure from every backup, log, or service-provider system.

Questions before uploading?

Ask support about data handling and any requirements your business must meet before adding sensitive records. This product overview is not a security certification or a promise that ReceiptNest meets every industry's compliance requirements. For service terms, see the Terms and Conditions.
